Following the organization of Sharr Beteiligungs GmbH by TITAN Cement Co, on February 2010 the new Managing Director, Mr. Emmanuel Mitsou and Plant Manager, Mr. George Lytas took over responsibilities from Mr. Patrick Stapfer and Mr. David Brown respectively.

The management handover process has run in a very smooth way and at a very high level of collaborative spirit, extended to all operational issues.

During this time the new managing team has been able to witness the high operational standards that the Sharrcem organization and its people have already implemented not only in production and administration but also in the grounds of Social Responsibility.

What remained as the outcome of this handover is the unanimous consent to drive to the future on the principal of sustaining the already remarkable performance of the company.

Besides others, the company is informed on the importance of small initiatives and development of marginalized local groups, in which case, the company tries to help and reactivate such groups. Department of Safety at Work of Sharrcem in cooperation with National Institute of Transfusion from QKUK - Prishtina joined the tradition of Holcim and on 15.10.2009, in premises of the plant was organized an action of blood donation. The staff of the Institution welcomed the initiative of Sharrcem, stressing out that this is a rare case for a company to invite us in such action. 54 plant employees responded to the invitation, for whom the management hosted a lunch in restaurant Bleta in Hani Elezit.

Sharrcem is committed to establishing a smoke-free environment across its premises in order to safeguard the health of its employees, and other visitors to plant premises. By this policy, it is committed to fully comply with the Holcim FPEs 2009 and Health Act 2006 (and regulations made under the Act).

In order to achieve this, smoking will is prohibited in workplaces and enclosed places (which are either enclosed or substantially enclosed as defined by legislation). This ban will also include vehicles owned or leased by the plant or privately-owned vehicles whilst parked on plant grounds. More info
