FIDES award for contributing to a local community where the company
operates shall be granted to the company that is marked for its help in
solving the problems or addressing needs of community, city, or region
that a company operates. Besides others, the company is informed on the
importance of small initiatives and development of marginalized local
groups, in which case, the company tries to help and reactivate such
groups. This award is granted in order to encourage and direct others to
invest and return investments, exactly in the location they are based
and they operate.

Sharrcem organizes blood donation action

October 15, 2009 - Within
the company Holcim voluntary action of giving blood is a great tradition
that is cultivated regularly.
Department of Safety at Work of Sharrcem in cooperation with National
Institute of Transfusion from QKUK - Prishtina joined the tradition of
Holcim and on 15.10.2009, in premises of the plant was organized an
action of blood donation. The staff of the Institution welcomed the
initiative of Sharrcem, stressing out that this is a rare case for a
company to invite us in such action. 54 plant employees responded to the
invitation, for whom the management hosted a lunch in restaurant Bleta
in Hani Elezit.

Company Sharrcem organizes Iftar for religious community,
institutions of Hani Elezit and customers of Dukagjini region.
SHARRCEM Company continues to respect holidays of all religious
communities in Kosova. In this regard, during the holy month of Ramadan,
SHARRCEM hosted an Iftar for representatives of Islamic community and
representatives of institutions of Hani Elezit with the wishes that Hani
Elezit citizens and their families to spend their religious holidays in
happiness.

NO Smoking Policy introduced in Sharrcem

is committed to establishing a smoke-free environment across its
premises in order to safeguard the health of its employees, and other
visitors to plant premises.
Sharrcem is committed to establishing a smoke-free environment across
its premises in order to safeguard the health of its employees, and
other visitors to plant premises. By this policy, it is committed to
fully comply with the Holcim FPEs 2009 and Health Act 2006 (and
regulations made under the Act).
In order to achieve this, smoking will is prohibited in workplaces and
enclosed places (which are either enclosed or substantially enclosed as
defined by legislation). This ban will also include vehicles owned or
leased by the plant or privately-owned vehicles whilst parked on plant
grounds.

open its doors to inhabitants of Kosovo

people to spend a pleasant afternoon at the Open Day, which will be held
on Saturday, 30th of May 2009, at the company’s cement plant in Hani
Elezit.
